DIY Valentine’s!

Life is busy. So busy and so hectic, in fact, that I’m sure we’ve all had moments (or weeks) where we’re stuck in New York City’s Time’s Square. People blurring by, loud noises, and maybe even occasionally strange smells. When we come back down to earth sometimes we realize that there’s only 4 days to a certain holiday… that we haven’t prepared for. I know the feeling! That’s why I wanted to write a short blog about some quick and simple Valentine’s DIY’s for the people that have been stuck in Time’s Square the past few days… or weeks. When you are thinking about a gift for your partner, I tend to always turn to The Five Love Languages. It helps me understand how they like to be loved. Once you’ve nailed down their “language”, you can more easily give them the perfect gift.

You might have to start on these… like today but you certainty can’t go wrong with them! The classic set of “Open When” letters can never fail, especially in a long distance relationship or even if you have a child in college far away. (Life Love Lauren)

If you still have little one’s at home, the Things That We Love About You board and mason jars is sure to get a smile on your sweeties face. (The Complete Guide To Imperfect Homemaking)

For those who are a little shorter on time, the love sticky note’s on the mirror has never failed me. You can write reasons why you love them, your wedding vows, song lyrics, or  tell a goofy story. The possibilities are limitless!

If you have a little more time on your hands but still not a ton, the possibilities with this custom photo frame are again, limitless. Poetry, a handwritten note, or the lyrics from your first dance. You won’t let your partner down with this one.

For the more romantic, balloon chandelier (Wedding Chicks) matched with this homemade initial candle (Hello Glow) is beyond compare. Throw some rose petals down, attach your favorite memories to the end of your balloon and fill the room. With the candle you can put initials, messages, or just simple hearts. Decorate to your hearts desire! (Pun intended)

And if you’re feeling really crazy, you can make your own custom labels for their favorite beer or beers (Make The Best Of Everything)! Combine that with a basket of their favorite goodies, a romantic movie, fuzzy socks (because who doesn’t love fuzzy socks?!) and a love note and you’ve got yourself another ultimate concoction for the perfect romantic night in.

Last but not least, this is not a DIY but it’s way too awesome not to include in here. If you haven’t heard of them before, go check out EcoFlower. Eco Flower is an online florist that sells flower bouquets all over the world. Their unique bouquets are made out of recycled and sustainable materials, such as book pages, brooches, burlap, music sheets, pallet wood, pine cone and sola wood. Best of all, they last forever and are individually scented with fragrances such as black raspberry vanilla, Egyptian lavender or Japanese cherry blossom.
